Rumson sits on the neck between the Navesink and the Shrewsbury, and the geography decides the move. Rumson Road and the river lanes off it are narrow with mature hedging and gravel drives that do not always take the weight of a loaded 26-foot truck, so we check the approach before we commit to one. The houses are large, old and full of pieces that need blanket-wrapping rather than shrink-wrap: full packing is the norm here rather than an add-on.
