Town by town

What changes a move in each Somerset County town.

These towns are covered here rather than on their own pages, because one page that goes deep on the county serves you better than a thin page per town. The local detail is the same detail we work from on the day.

Moving in Bedminster

about an hour from our Wall Township base

Bedminster is two different moves. The estate properties have long private drives and gated entries, which suits a 26-foot truck: we pull to the door where others shuttle from the road. The Hills is the opposite, a large planned community of townhouses and condos with shared drives, assigned parking and association rules about when a truck can sit in a court. We confirm which one you are in before quoting, because the access difference changes the crew and the hours more than the square footage does.

Neighborhoods we work in: The Hills, Pluckemin, Bedminster Village, Lamington, Route 206 estates

Moving in Somerville

just under an hour from our Wall Township base

Somerville is the county seat and its downtown has filled in with new residential building around Main Street, so a growing share of the work is apartment moves into buildings with a service entrance and a booked elevator rather than a driveway. Behind Main Street the housing is older and the side streets are narrow enough that a loading zone has to be reserved rather than hoped for. The Raritan Valley Line station puts commuters here, and their moves tend to be timed to a start date.

This is the first time I have moved in 27 years. The process of selling/buying a home and packing is overwhelming. Fresh Start Movers was the first company I called for an estimate. The owner came out personally to do the estimate. His price was right in the middle of the 4 estimates I received. With all of their 5 star reviews and wonderful customer service (Christina in the office is outstanding) we decided to use Fresh Start and weren’t disappointed. They arrived on time. The team loading the truck was kind, respectful and finished in the time quoted. They were great guys. Not one piece of furniture was damaged. Fresh Start made this whole process so much easier for me. I highly recommend them and will definitely use them again.

FAQ

Moving in Somerset County: common questions

What people ask before booking a move in Somerset County.

Ask us anything

Do you cover all of Somerset County?

Yes. We work throughout Somerset County. Bridgewater and Hillsborough have a page with local detail, and Bedminster and Somerville are covered further down this page. If your town is not listed we almost certainly still get there, so call and ask.

How far is Somerset County from your base?

Our base is in Wall Township, about 42 miles from Somerset County. We are typically in the county two to three times a week, so most jobs are scheduled inside a week of a signed quote.

What does a move in Somerset County cost?

In-state moves are quoted in writing after a consultation, usually 15 to 20 minutes by video or in person and longer when the job needs it. It is an estimate rather than a fixed price, so the final number reflects the work actually done. The walkthrough is what keeps the estimate close to the invoice.

Do you handle long-distance moves out of Somerset County?

Yes, on a dedicated truck. Your shipment is the only one on the vehicle, the crew that loads in Somerset County is the crew that unloads at the destination, and delivery is a specific date in the contract rather than a two-week window.

Which Somerset County towns do you move in most?

Bridgewater and Hillsborough are where we run most often in Somerset County, and each has a page covering the local access, parking and staircase conditions that actually change a move day.
