Scotch Plains runs mostly mid-century and split-level on lots larger than its Union County neighbors, which is good news at the truck: driveways take the weight and the carry is short. The Ashbrook side and the stretch toward Fanwood are the most established. It is a run up the Parkway and 78 from our Wall Township base, so Scotch Plains books with a little more notice than a shore town. Split-levels bring their own quirk, which is a half-flight of stairs at every transition and furniture that has to be walked rather than carried.
