Almost every complaint about a New Jersey to Florida move traces back to one decision: whether your furniture traveled alone or shared a trailer with three other households. A shared load is cheaper and it is why delivery becomes a window, why there is a terminal transfer in the middle, and why the people unloading in Florida have never seen your inventory. We only run dedicated trucks on this route.

A walkthrough sets the estimate, and on an interstate move that number matters more than it does locally, because the industry standard is a non-binding estimate that gets recalculated after your belongings are already on the truck. Ours does not work that way: the number on the quote is the number on the invoice.
On move day the load is inventoried piece by piece, because on a thousand-mile run an inventory is the only way anyone can prove what went on the truck. Furniture is pad-wrapped before it leaves the room rather than at the curb. You get GPS check-ins during transit, and the delivery date was agreed before we left.
At the Florida end, beds and tables are reassembled, boxes are staged by room against the inventory, and we walk the house with you before the truck leaves.

On a dedicated truck your delivery is a date. On a shared load it is a window, often ten to fourteen days, because your furniture waits for the truck to fill.
A shared load means your belongings travel with several other households on the same trailer, usually with a transfer at a terminal along the way. It is cheaper and it is where most long-distance horror stories come from: handling at every transfer, a delivery window instead of a date, and a crew at the far end who has never seen your inventory. We do not run them.
Moving household goods across a state line is federally regulated. The mover needs USDOT authority and ICC/MC operating authority for household goods, which is separate from any state license. Check the company on the FMCSA SAFER register and look for AUTHORIZED FOR HHG.
It happens on this route more than any other, in both directions. Fresh Start does not operate storage, so we will not pretend we can hold your furniture indefinitely. What we do is plan for it: the walkthrough includes a what-if conversation, and if a gap opens we tell you the options and what each one costs before you commit.
